Stan Hendrickx
Stan Hendrickx (°1954) has a degree and a PhD in archeology and art history (Katholieke Universiteit Leuven). Since 1977 Hendrickx has participated in excavations and surveys in Egypt almost annually. He has published extensively and is responsible for the edition of the Analytical bibliography of the Prehistory and the Early Dynastic period of Egypt and Northern Sudan, updated yearly in the journal Archéo-Nil. For the research project Non-fiction graphic illustration exemplified by excavations in Egypt he collaborates and publishes with illustrator Merel Eyckerman. As a result of this project, MAD-Faculty students have the possibility to participate as illustrators in excavations in Egypt and Turkey. Hendrickx has cooperated in excavations and research projects with Katholieke Universiteit Leuven Koninklijke Musea voor Kunst en Geschiedenis (Brussels), Universität zu Köln, Université Paul Sabatier (Toulouse), Yale University and the British Museum. He currently works as a lecturer in art history and a researcher at PHL-Art & Architecture. His main research interests are: Egyptian archeology, the Predynastic, Early Dynastic period, ceramology and the visualisation of archeological data.
