Noël Reumkens
Noël Reumkens (°1979) has a MA and a PhD in Germanic languages (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). His doctoral thesis on German contemporary poetry is entitled Art, Artist, Concept and Context. Intermedial and Other References to the Visual Arts in the Poetry of Mayröcker, Kling, Grünbein and Draesner (promotor: Prof. H.M.Müller). Reumkens stayed as a Swiss government scholarship holder at Universität Basel (2004-‘05) and as a research fellow with Dr. Irina Rajewsky at Freie Universität Berlin (Summer 2008). He was one of the organisers of the conference Word & Image. Literature and the pictorial arts in the 20th Century at the Royal Flemish Academy in May 2007. Since September 2010 Reumkens has lectured courses on semiotics and transmedial narratology at PHL-Arts & Architecture. He is the coordinator of the research team Image&Word at PHL. His research topics include German modern and postmodern poetry, intermedial phenomena in/between literature and the visual arts and postmodern literature and art theory.
