Bart Geerts // Painting out of place: the space in between
Painting out of place is an inquiry into the position and the possibilities of contemporary painting. A number of contemporary theoretical insights will be put to the test of daily practice. The possible three-dimensional effect of painting in particular will be carefully examined. Painting should not be regarded solely as the construction of a space on/in a flat surface, but also as the framing of a(n) (exhibition) space and even a way of looking at the world around us.
